Momo's Story: Uncle Puppy's Death (5)

Uncle Puppy's Death (5)

In the meantime, I bore four kittens in October 1994, and eventually one of sons, Kuri remained in the family. Kuri and Uncle Puppy did not get along very well, presumably because both are a male; and Kuri was afraid of Puppy.

Our family then moved into a new house in the summer of 1995, and the following picture is one of the last where Uncle Puppy was in good shape. We had a wider garden, and I am sure Puppy felt better; and although Puppy was getting older, there was nothing unhappy around him.

After this, in the early summer of 1997, Puppy developed a tumor on his head (not internal but external), and went to the hospital of Dr. Fox. The doctor was indecisive as regards proper treatment of the tumor, and he let a young intern in charge of Puppy's treatment. (The ring around Puppy's neck in the following picture was for protecting the tumor from scratching by his own nails.) This guy was immature, insensitive, irresolute, and irresponsible; moreover, his prescription was dead wrong, judging from the awful result. But at this stage, no one in our family imagined any serious result.
