Momo's Story: Uncle Puppy's Death (3)

Uncle Puppy's Death (3)

Uncle Puppy's life went well; he was in good terms with the family, with friends, enjoyed excursions and trips, although he sometimes escaped (despite the fence around the house) in order to enjoy a walk by himself. Opening doors was an easy job for him, unless doors were locked.

However, one day the shadow of misfortune fell over him: All of a sudden, he had an epileptic fit! The father noticed a strange noise in the garden, and found Puppy in the middle of a violent fit on the ground; nothing could be done, except for watching carefully and in order to prevent him from biting his own tongue. The father and the mother took him to an animal doctor, but the doctor could not give any good prescription. Incidentally, I know this doctor, since he was to do my contraceptive surgery; he looked like a fox, so let us call him "Dr. Fox". He had opened his hospital just around the time Puppy came to our family, and although he looked immature, he seemed to be kind to animals. So our parents thought.

[Dr. Fox, as I remember him]

By the time I was adopted by our family (1993), this animal hospical became larger, and two or three doctors (including some interns, I guess) were working there. Later, you will see that this hospital is responsible for Uncle Puppy's death. Do not misunderstand me, though. Puppy did not die of epilepsy.

[This is NOT an epileptic fit, but it looks like this; the dog panting and trembling, unable to control himself. If he falls into water in such a state, he will die. Around 1989]

In the meantime, Puppy began to suffer from ocasional epileptic fits; maybe several times a year, maybe twice a month, depending on (unknown) conditions. But otherwise his life went as usual.
