The Brush history
 Brush history began at China around 2000 years ago.
At the time, Sho-gun Moutain made first writing bursh for gift to Shin emperor.
Several years later, NARA brush started by one man, SAKAI KIYOKAWA went to China
and learn how to make brush. This is the begin of brush history in Japan.
About Heian period at Kyoto and Nara, so many Buddist monk start using brush
for writing. It become populor to use brush for writing.
About SHORINDO
 Shorindo start on EDO period. Tsunematsu Yuba was making and
selling writing brush all over city in Japan. Later he met famous
Japanese culigrapher artist and start make brush for them.
At that time, he settle one place and open his company, here in Nara Japan.
Over 130 years, we are making writing brush for traditional way. Every brush
are hand made and keep high quality products. |
