"Rekishi Kaido" was planned with the aim of building a base from where
Japanese culture could be exhibited to the world, creating new areas for leisure
activities and encouraging communities to feature their own historical
identities. This program makes the best use of various cultural resources in the
eight prefectures comprising the Kinki district. "Rekishi Kaido", linking
together all spheres of culture and history in the Kinki district, consists of
several historical areas spanning ancient to modern times. Ikaruga district
belongs to the "Ancient Times Area" -linking Ise and
Asuka. |
