Daniel C. Dennett

One of the leading figures in the philosophy of cognitive sciences. Beginning with Content and Consciousness (1969), he has published a number of important books and papers; Brainstorms (1987), The Intentioal Stance (1987), Consciousnes Explained (1991), etc. Most recently, his Darwin's Dangerous Idea (Simon and Shuster, 1995) explores the wide range of Darwinism, from biology, through psychology, aritifical intelligence, and culture to morality, in the spirit of reductionism.
