Timeline for the Newton-Leibniz Priority Problem

1665-6 invented the method of fluxion
1671 "De methodis serierum et fluxionum" (unpublished)
1675-6 Manuscript on differentiation
Correnspondence: Newton disclosed some of his results without showing his method, and Leibniz knew that Newton was working on similar ideas as his own. Because of the delay of Leibniz's reply, Newton suspected Leibniz's plagiarism.
1684 "Nova methodus pro maximis et minimis, ..." published in Acta Eruditorum
1686 Leibniz notation for differentiation and integration, in Acta Eruditorum
1699 Wallis's works published, in which Newton's letters to Leibniz are included
1708-9 John Keill's charge of plagiarism against Leibniz
1711 Leibniz's letter of complaint sent to Royal Society
1712 A committee in Royal Society for judging the case; and its report (written by Newton) in April
1713 Commercium epistolicum D. Johannis Collins, et aliorum de analysi promota (official report of the incident)
